Good day Course Technology customer,

If you’re reviewing this webpage, it’s because, at some point, you were given access to password-protected Instructor Resources to Course Technology textbooks.

Today’s communication is to inform you that as of Saturday December 12, 2009 your resources are migrating from the former course.com domain to our Cengage Learning-wide platform we call SSO: Single Sign-On. The direct URL is http://login.cengage.com.

So what will this mean to you?

Here is a quick, high-level comparison of your workflow today and what it will be:

On course.com today
Post 12/12 migration to SSO

Step 1

Step 2

Search by ISBN, author, etc.

Search by ISBN, author, etc.

Step 3

Click on About This Product

Click on Companion site link on the Faculty side

Step 4

Click on the Instructor Downloads button (right side)

Click on the resource you wish to access (left nav)

Why are we doing this? We know that many of you not only teach computing courses, but other courses as well. If you’re using other Cengage Learning titles, you will now visit only one site to log in and obtain all of your valuable instructor resources.

How will you get into the new system? The current username and password you use to access course.com resources will be the same you use to access the SSO resources.

What if you already have another SSO password?
SSO “wins.” This means that you will be using the username and password you currently use to get into the SSO system, which will unlock all of your current Cengage Learning resources as well as your Course Technology resources.

If I have forgotten my username/password, how can I retrieve it?

Instructors should go to http://login.cengage.com/sso/ and click on the ”forgot password” link. They will be prompted to enter their email address and then answer a security question. If an instructor already has an existing SSO account, then they should answer the security question that they set up. If an instructor doesn’t have an existing SSO account, (meaning they formerly only had a course.com username and password) then they will answer the security question “What is your pet’s name” with the answer “Spot”. This is a default we put in place for all migrated course.com users who didn’t previously have an SSO account.

Again, this transition is occurring on Saturday, December 12 and the sites will generally be unavailable from 7:00am-12:00pm EST. As soon as we can test to be sure the migration went through successfully, the sites will be fully functional.

Please contact our Technical Support staff should have any questions about this transition. They can be reached in any of the following ways:

  • SSO registrations 800-648-7450 option 5 and then 1
  • Tech Support 800-648-7450 opt 5 and then 3
  • Customer Service 800-648-7450 opt 2,3, or 4

Regards,
Course Technology
